The Parlor City Boys’ Chorus is a group made up of boys from ages 9 to 12, with unchanged voices. This chorus is dedicated to involving boys in the joy of the study and performance of choral music of all genres. Instruction will include music reading, proper vocal technique and rehearsal etiquette. The chorus will nurture self esteem in boys of all races, creeds and cultures by promoting mu-sical, social and leadership skills through the performance of high quality choral music.
Boys do not have to be a member of their school chorus to be accepted into the Parlor City Boy’s Chorus. There is a brief audition process at the beginning of each term. Boys will be asked to match pitches on a piano, and sing America alone. There is no fee for the audition, but if asked to join the chorus, there is a $50 fee per semester ($100 a yr.) for membership (scholarships and family dis-counts are available).

Spring Concert – Friday, May14th –Church of the Good Shepherd, Conklin Ave, Binghamton.

Ghislaine Stewart graduated from the Crane School of Music,S.U.N.Y. at Potsdam, with a B.Sc. in Music Education, majoring on the violin. She was Director of String Education at the Maine-Endwell School for five years, where she was responsible for developing that school’s string program on every level. She studied Suzuki Violin with Harry Kobialka and Sandford Reuning, and developed a "Suzuki" public school teaching method for all stringed instruments.

While Ms. Stewart studied voice at the University of Colorado in Boulder, she also studied viola with a member of the Denver Symphony and played in the University Orchestra and the Arapahoe Chamber Orchestra in Denver. In Germany, she continued her study of voice with Tsuyako Mitsui, Arleen Auger, and John Stewart (not related) a tenor at the Frankfurt Opera.

She continued playing the violin in an orchestra which her husband Fitzroy conducted and had founded.......The Oberursel Chamber Orchestra. For the next five years they managed this orchestra together. During this time, Stewart also sang as an Oratorio Soloist and German Lieder Singer and taught Suzuki Violin in the German Public Schools and privately.

Upon her return to the USA, she taught Elementary Vocal in the Catholic Schools and Suzuki Violin in Corning, and conducted the Intermediate Junior Orchestra, which performed with her husband’s Youth Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes. Presently she continues to sing German Lieder and Church Music and totally enjoys teaching elementary vocal and Strings in Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Binghamton, where she directs the Binghamton All City 5th Grade Chorus. During two weeks of the summer months, Ms. Stewart is on the faculty of the Suzuki Institute at the Ithaca College as conductor of two Suzuki Children’s Chorus.
