Angie Traverse was a wonderful mother, an adoring wife, and a great friend to many. Her creativity, courage, and caring nature strongly touched the lives of nearly all who crossed her path. For years to come, her artwork at the Discovery Center will continue to help identify this wonderful place that has touched the lives of so many young people. In December of 2000, Angie was surprisingly diagnosed with a terminal case of non-smoker’s lung cancer. She bravely battled her illness for more than four years. There was not one time when she ever allowed her illness to define the woman she was. She constantly looked out the wellbeing of others, even during her greatest times of need. The only fear she faced was that of leaving what she loved so deeply. Any college-bound student who possesses these “Angie-like” qualities is eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is a one-time award of $2000. Applications are due by May 1, 2009 and should be turned in at your school. Thank you, The Traverse Family
