Discovery Center Summer 2013 Camps
8 Weeks of summer ‘Ed-Venture’ camps to choose from Monday-Friday, July 8-August 23, 2013

Camper Ages:  5-6 (5 year olds must be registered for fall 2013 Kindergarten), 7-8, and 9-12.
Internship program for 13-15 year olds (call 607-773-8661 x 208 for application).
Hours:  Half day sessions 9am-12pm and 1-4pm with the option for a full day of fun with our back-to-back camps…just bring a lunch!  Supervised lunch with exploration of our interactive exhibits 12-1 for campers registered for both morning and afternoon sessions.
Early drop off (includes Breakfast Club) and late pick-up available.   Children registered for early drop off will enjoy a nutritious breakfast to fuel them for an energetic day of camp fun!  Early drop-off from 8-9am ($15/session) and late pick-up from 4-5:30pm ($15/session); must sign up for extended camp hours at time of registration.
Camp Fees:  All camp fees are due at time of registration including early drop off and late pickup fees.  Members $65, non members $75 per weekly half day session.  One time $12 registration fee per camper for summer 2013 includes a Discovery Kids Summer Camp T-shirt.

The Galumpha Gang

The performers of the internationally acclaimed, acrobatic dance company, Galumpha, in partnership with The Discovery Center, will offer a two-week intensive summer camp in collaborative choreography, dazzling acrobatics, creative costuming, and tantalizing teamwork to area children and youth; no dance experience necessary!  The Galumpha performers bring thousands of hours of stage and teaching experience into a mind-expanding and body-bending process certain to result in the wildly unexpected.
Participants will absorb skills while creating a genuine, kid-driven, professional performance, which will be a showcased event open to the general public as a culmination of the two-week program.  The Galumpha Gang is geared for children aged 7—13, running July 22nd —August 2nd. Camper fee is $400 (members $375) registration is first come, first served.  There are a limited number of internship positions available for 14-18 year olds and fee is $200.  Camp and performance is held at Binghamton University’s Fine Arts Building.  Call 773-8661 x201 to register.
