The Story Garden
Growing a Love for Reading and Nature
The Story Garden is our award-winning free outside exhibit space. Started in 2007 as project of The Junior League of Binghamton and still growing today, The Story Garden seeks to spark the imagination of visitors through interactive experiences with images from favorite children’s books in an outdoor setting. The Story Garden promotes an appreciation for gardens, the environment, reading and, of course, having fun outside!
As visitors walk the paths, they will find a wide variety of perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, and the Peter Rabbit Vegetable Garden. The 10 different Story Garden vignettes entice guests with wonderful artwork and statuary created out of metal and wood, and inviting child-sized structures.
The Story Garden continues to bloom through the generous support of our community. If you would like to continue this tradition, or simply honor a loved one, consider a donation.
(All donors’ names are displayed in The Story Garden, and
mentioned in written publications.)
