Fantastical and Mythical Creature Week
For thousands of years the creatures of the unknown have fascinated mankind. You are about to enter the world of fire breathing Dragons, Fairies and Elves, Gnomes, Trolls and Leprechauns, Mermaids and Unicorns and Zombies, Werewolves and Vampires. Discover how their powers have captured our imagination! All activities begin at 11am and continue until 1pm – free with admission.
Monday, April 2 – Gnomes, Trolls and Leprechauns – Learn about the guardianship of bridges and byways, animals, plants and wildlife and ancient treasures through these fantastical beings! See if you can find the treasure at the end of the rainbow!
Tuesday, April 3 – Zombies, Werewolves and Vampires – Throughout history there have been many tales told of vampires, werewolves and zombies. See how some of today’s customs come from ancient superstitions. “Sink your teeth” into some fun trivia and crafts!
Wednesday, April 4 – Mermaids and Unicorns – Discover the magical powers of the unicorn and the legends and stories of merpeople. Join us at 12:30pm for a mermaid parade. Costumes welcome!
Thursday, April 5 – Dragon Day! Explore the myth of the dragon as told around the world in every culture. Make a dragon egg and a special dragon pouch for dragon treasure.
Friday, April 6 – Fairies and Elves – Do you have a fairy or an elf that lives at your house? We’ll tell you the clues to look for. Make a fairy bell and see if you can find a fairy!
