NYS Path Through History Weekend
To mark the 100th anniversary of the Suffragette movement, The Discovery Center is pleased to present Kit’s Interactive Theater’s performance of Women’s Rights featuring Suffragist Siga Schoennwolf who speaks out on women’s rights. Explore nineteenth and twentieth century roles and values as they manifested in the home and at the workplace.
Meet the powerful women and men; Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass, who led the women forward. Showtime is Saturday, October 7 at 11:30am— free with museum admission.
Kitty Jones writes, choreographs, produces and performs all of her material for Kit’s Interactive Theatre. She has been developing her original style of interactive theatre since 1987 and has combined her passion for history and love of theatre. She brings history to life for audiences by involving them in performances that feature improvisation, dance, music and a great deal of humor. Throughout the weekend we will have a special Suffragette display. Visitors will be able to try on costumes, make a women’s rights pin, register to vote, and play children’s games from the era.
